About Steven
|
Of Jordanian and Palestinian origin, Steven Salaita was born and raised in Appalachia on the Virginia/West Virginia border. His academic interests include Arab America, Native America, the Near East, literary theory, and American multiculturalism. He is the author of The Uncultured Wars : Arabs, Muslims and the Poverty of Liberal Thought - New Essays, Anti-Arab Racism in the USA, The Holy Land in Transit: Colonialism and the Quest for Canaan, and Arab American Cultures, Politics, and Literary Fictions, and has been published in a variety of scholarly and popular journals. He served several years the as Executive Director of the Radius of Arab American Writers, Inc., [RAWI], an organization devoted to the arts inside and outside of the Arab American community. Steven Salaita is Assistant Professor of English at Virginia Tech. |
